Donation of $25,000 made to HomeAid and its Chapters to Help Address Homelessness Nationwide.

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - April 17, 2017 - PRLog --  Taylor Morrison, a leading national homebuilder and developer, has named HomeAid, a leading non-profit provider of housing for the homeless, as one of their 2017 corporate charities. The company will be providing a donation of $15,000 to HomeAid America and an additional $10,000 more to its local chapters to help build housing for service providers addressing homelessness nationwide.

Sheryl Palmer, Taylor Morrison's President and CEO and a member of HomeAid America's National Board of Directors, presented the check to Peter Simons, CEO of HomeAid America, at a company event in Phoenix on April 11.

"We are delighted to recognize HomeAid and support their efforts to help end homelessness in America," said Palmer. "Our team members are incredibly passionate about building communities for people to thrive in, and HomeAid does just that by offering opportunities for our nation's homeless to get back on their feet, attain self-sufficiency and acquire longer-term housing."

Taylor Morrison is involved with HomeAid in a number of its markets including Houston, and three areas in California: San Francisco Bay Area, Sacramento, and Orange County, where they have had representatives sit on the local Boards of Directors and have also built several projects for charities in their areas. With this new national connection, HomeAid and Taylor Morrison will work together to grow Company involvement in more areas where HomeAid has chapters and open additional HomeAid chapters in markets where Taylor Morrison builds.

Meritage Homes Corporation, Scottsdale (NYSE:MTH) on Thursday announced the appointment of Phil Bodem to Southern California Division President and Christopher Ryan to Florida Division President.

Both appointments signal a growth strategy. Meritage said it was "deepening its commitment" to the Southern California region with Bodem's appointment and "intends to pursue growth strategies to increase its number of new communities in the division." The company said it has changed Ryan with "growing the company's presence in the Tampa, Bradenton and Sarasota areas."

A veteran in the home building industry, Bodem joins Meritage Homes with more than 26 years of experience in home building, including 15 years as a division president. In his previous roles with Taylor Morrison, Morrison Homes and Stellar Homes, he led his teams through the economic downturn in 2008 and prepared the division for growth and recovery in subsequent years.

Bodem will oversee Meritage’s Southern California growth strategy and day-to-day operations, including land acquisition and development, home construction, customer service, sales and marketing.

BIASC Members Make the List of the Top 20 Most Trusted Homebuilders in America

According to the results from the 2017 America’s Most Trusted® Home Builder Study by  Lifestory Research, Building Industry Association of Southern California, Inc. (BIASC) members, Taylor Morrison, Richmond American, Khovnanian Homes, Toll Brothers, Shea Homes, William Lyon Homes, CalAtlantic Homes, TriPointe Homes, Meritage Homes, Lennar, Beazer Homes, D.R. Horton, Pulte Homes, and KB Home, have made the list of the Top 20 Most Trusted Homebuilders in America.

After tabulating the opinions of home shoppers and identifying the home builder that is trusted the most among the nation’s largest builders, Taylor Morrison take the top spot on the list. This is the second consecutive year in which Taylor Morrison has been identified among home shoppers as being the home builder they trust the most among the nation’s largest builders.

“Relationships and trust are the foundation of success for any business,” said Taylor Morrison President and CEO Sheryl Palmer, whose company was also ranked No. 1 in last year’s study. “Every day we strive to provide our customers with the resources and support to help them make an educated decision about their most important investment.”

Taylor Morrison operates in 16 regional markets across nine states – Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, N. Carolina, S. Carolina and Texas – and closed more than 6,300 homes in 2015.

The study, based on 31,764 consumer opinions, tracks how trust impacts consumers’ evaluations of home builder brands. Consumer opinions are collected over the course of the prior 12 months in the largest home building markets in the United States. To qualify to participate in the study, participants must have indicated that they were aware of specific brands and actively shopping for a new home.
